Claudia Kussano studied fine arts in her native Brazil and after exploring various art mediums she found herself drawn to metal arts and jewelry design. Her work is inspired by organic shapes, textiles, architecture and precious metals.
The refined use of sterling silver, antiqued sterling silver, and a controlled palette of semi-precious stones sets Ms. Kussano’s work apart. She also designs and fabricates most of her findings, creating innovative clasps and earwires not found on any other jewelry. The resulting work is distinctive and original, evoking the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature.
Ms. Kussano feels that her jewelry – what she terms “little objects of adornment” –achieves their full beauty when they are worn.
